Quebec appears to be on track to control the spread of COVID-19 as daily cases are dropping by the day, as it recorded today the lowest number of new cases since March 26 and the lowest number of deaths in almost two months. The cultural sector was re-opened yesterday, with a $250 million boost from the government and life is slowly but surely getting back to normal.
The fight against the virus is far from being over, but hospitalizations are dropping drastically and businesses reopening gradually. The next few weeks will be crucial as shopping malls, restaurants and personal care centers are expected to open. We will also need to wait for schools to re-open to figure out whether a second bigger wave is on the way.
Let’s hope for the best. It’s hard to believe we’ve been on lockdown for almost three months now!
